What is dental implant surgery?

Dental implantation is a surgical procedure that involves implanting an artificial root (implant) into the jaw in place of a missing tooth. The next step is attaching an artificial tooth (crown) to the artificial root. This procedure has no alternative for the restoration of missing teeth and has been performed successfully throughout the world for many years. What are the advantages of the implant? 

Unlike artificial crowns, the restoration of one or more teeth does not require extra work on the neighboring teeth. The device is implanted into the bone in the place of the missing tooth.

In case of total absence of teeth, it is possible to fix, for example, a removable prosthesis on the implants, so that the prosthesis does not move during talking or chewing.
